Topic tags/keywords: finishing arts and crafts shaker greene and greene traditional question

Hi folks,

Recently I bought from a friend from Germany this 5-6 years old linseed oil and turpentine. I have 4 liters of linseed oil and 6 liters of terpentine and as it says on the cans it is mixed 1 to 1. What I am interested in is how does the turpentine affect the quality of raw linseed oil when applied to wood and how much coats I should use with or without turpentine?

Thank you for your answers,

Cheers

It is fine adding Turp to Linseed oil. Its a faster drying solvent than mineral spirits.

Have your say...
