Topic tags/keywords: lathe turning spindle pommel

Turning a leg yesterday for the farmhouse table I “blew out” some grain (torn area) in the transition area between the pommel and circular turned part of the leg. I don’t have a pic handy but am wondering if there a repair for this sort of thing or am I faced with tossing the leg and starting over!? I thought about slicing off the affected pommel side and gluing on a new face, but with 2 faces affected this is going to look kluge-y..
