I have an oppportunity to purchase a relic. It is a Northfield 8” jointer that has been modified. The original had a direct drive arrangement and the current owner installed a belt drive. This cutterhead is now mounted on pillowblocks and driven by a 3hp motor. The machine runs super smooth. Condition appears to be great. Tables are co-planar.

The beast weighs around 1,000 lbs. Cost is in the $800 range.

Should I consider?
