Hello,

I’ hoping to get some good advice on basic woodworking skills classes in the Seattle area. I’m moving up there in December and my 17 year old want to continue picking up skills. The area high school does not have a wood shop program and I’m looking for somewhere that teaches basic machining skills are safety. It will take a few months to get my own shop up and running. Plus, I think its better that ones children learn from other’s. There is a different dynamic between teenagers and adult experts than between them and their parents. Hopefully he will learn new things to teach me!

Any and all advice is welcome. Thanks!

There are a few options, but maybe start with Pratt Fine Arts Center. They have a lot of options, including woodworking, blacksmithing, etc. and have teen specific courses:
