So I bought a pack of 1/2” brads at a garage sale today. I have a Bostitch SB2IN1 that shoots 5/8 to 1 5/8. I tried running the head of the 1/2” brad in the slot intended for the 5/8 brad. The nailer shot them just fine.

Am I going to do any long-term damage to my nailer if I shoot some nails 1/8” too short?

I have used shorter nails before without a problem. the gun recommended 2” to 3” framing nails. I used
1-7/8” nails with no problems. I think if it works use them.
