I’m building a live edge coffee table I have a large crack I’ve stabilized the crack with butterfly dutchmen, now I want to fill the crack with an Ecopoxy product. There seems to be several different products casting resins, river table resin I’m just not sure which product to purchase also, do I use the Ecopoxy dye or will another dye work I have Transtint I want black dyed resin. Thanks

When you order it by phone, the sales rep will be helpful to get the right type. depending on size on the top. You could put in model paint when your mixing or stirring your epoxy. The same type of paint you use paint the plastic model cars and planes. just enough to tint the epoxy. If you want to be safe, buy the dye where you get the epoxy.

When I had to do this on a walnut table I built last year, I used the Loctite 5 minute epoxy. Mixed in a little dark mission brown transtint, and it looked awesome. I’m sure there are some other reasons to buy a costlier epoxy (viscosity, slower dry time, clearer, etc.) but the cheap stuff worked fine for my requirement.
