Help!!! I think I’m addicted to this site!!!! Last month I “tweaked” something in my lower back and also had some pain from bone spurs in my shoulder so I haven’t been able to do very much in the shop. I’ve spent most of my time checking out all the wonderful projects, forums and blogs on LumberJocks while I healed. Now that I’m better, I’m finding very hard to get back to my projects.

Someone please come and do an “intervention” before it’s too late!!!! LMAO

Does anyone else have this LumberJocks disease???

I’m sure that posting in this forum probably won’t help me because I’ll be checking back regularly to read all the responses but this is my cry for help!!!!! LOL

It’s too late. You can’t get better until you hit bottom. When you are skipping meals and missing work to keep up with the posts, maybe you’ll be ready to accept help.

The question is: ”Do you have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in your ‘mouse’ hand?”

Welcome to the “invalid” section of LJs Tim.
The LJ disease as you call it can really be a lifesaver.
Many who have some debilitating ailments preventing them from have fun in the shop can cruise LJs and keep focused on their WW passion.
LJs is like getting a new WW magazine every day to those who are unable to spend premium time in the shop making sawdust.
I have a long list of ailments that prevent me a lot of the time from “doing what I really want to do” and LJs keeps me up the speed in everything WW.
I commiserate with you on your new pain, fact is 2 weeks ago I managed to get a pinched nerve in my neck which has resulted in intense pain in my right arm all the time. Just another item to add to my of ailments …........still there is LJs, and I am thankful for it.

H-Mike:
Interesting that you should say that. With this nerve problem, it is quite a task at the moment to type and use the mouse with my right hand, so please excuse my poor text input as I am forced to use my left hand for writing. lol :-)

Sorry it took so long to get back here and respond to you guys ;-)

I had to FINALLY eat something before I passed out.

I think my next project will be a small table in the bathroom so I can take my laptop in there. That way I won’t miss anything!!!

Thanks for the support guys!!!

Tim – how interesting. You’ve been a member for 65 days and you make this post. I’ve been a member now for 649 days (according to LJ’s ticker) and on my 56th day I made a very simular posting. Check out the comments – they are priceless: http://lumberjocks.com/topics/12670

When you heal up a little, move a laptop into the shop. You can tell your non-woodworking friends its for design or drawings, the rest will know the truth and help cover your addiction.

Haha same here Tim. Now I just have to stop leaving early from work to go home and work on the lathe! (or I won’t have money to pay for the electricity to run it) :)

Tim, welcome to Lumberjocks; it is a nice place.

You know Tim, the real problem is just how little time it takes to become addicted! I’ve only been here 13 days and I’m with you. I’m currently studying so I’m supposed to be doing assignments, but I’m learning much more here.

Let’s face it, this site is “good stuff”!

LOL, I’ll take one. Minus the phones though, I do like a bit of peace and quiet you know.
