Hi everyone,

I just recently got into woodworking and I am currently living in Mid Missouri (St. Robert). Right off of I-44 about midway between St. Louis and Springfield. Does anybody know where I can find a supplier in the local area for hardwoods. The closest I have found so far are in St. Louis which is about a 2-21/2 hour drive so I have been ordering most of the wood I need online. Thanks for the help.

Not sure how far you are from KC, here we have a Schutte Lumber here that is awsome…...I’ve also had pretty good luck finding sawyers on craigslist… can usually find one pretty close, and if you are willing to do the surfacing, you can probably find a pretty good deal.

You might try UTC Hardwoods in Springfield. I’ve heard they are excellent. It’s still a long drive, but beats the hassle of driving in St. Louis.

Brian I am in the same pair of shoes. I am located near Jefferson City and share your problem of finding a wood supplier. In jefferson City there is Cardwell Hardwood and east of Linn on Highway 50 is _Freedom Products Co Inc.. I have used both. I don’t shop for price, with the cost of fuel it somtimes it is cheaper to pay more (wow that sounded like a politician). Both suppliers are in the phone book or send me a pm and I will give you the numbers. Good hunting. Sorry to hear you started woodworking because it is very addictive. (LOL)
