I stood on the sidelines while the Triton came and went.

Now I’m kicking myself for not biting the bullet on the last Freud that was 50% off at Woodcraft. Called today and it was gone.

Are there any 3hp+ routers out there with above table bit change worth considering?

Freud and Triton are the only two brands that I know of that offer the full compliment of features that allows easy one handed above table bit changes…a collet that extends above the table, auto collet lock, above table height adjust, and above table height lock.

I’ve got the Porter Cable 7815 in the Jessem Mast-R-Lift, and I change the bit above the table on that rig. But that’s not a cheap way to go…

Thanks for the input everyone. I managed to find a Freud FT3000VCE at another Woodcraft being cleared out for $199 (regular $375) so I grabbed it. Sounds like once I get it mounted and find a power screwdriver that I can chuck the lift key in I will be off and running.

Nice score … im a bit jealous. The only issue i have is that sometimes the fence can get in the way of adjusting it up and down but besides that it’ll handle just about anything you throw at it.

I own both the Freud and the Triton 3hp. Freud above. Both solid, but the Freud seems to be made better. It’s a big more ergonomic too. I think you did well.
