If you are referring to the comments people make about the projects that are posted i would say yes.

It is one thing to have someone who is uninformed about what it takes to make a quality peice of furnature etc. to say nice work but when it comes from those who do and do this for a living it is very encouraging to hear it.

And we all need to be encouraged at times.

“Nice Work” is a tag that says, I’ve been here, I looked at your work and I appreciate the project and the extra effort you used to post it to keep the site going. It’s simple, but very meaningful.

Every piece put on Lumberjocks is nice work. Whether you are a beginner, skilled or journeyman craftsman. We are all proud of our work and accomplishments. I like seeing other peoples work because it gives me new ideas. Most people like certain things more than others but all of us encourage each others work. I do not know what you are wanting here partner, but there is no project not good enough to put on this sight.

Nice work in lumber jocks lingo seems to be equal to attaboy…

For me, if I look and have nothing to say, I don’t post, if I like it, I say nice work. Otherwise I have special words to say.

Never a reason to post negative.. only compliments and constructive ideas.

Welcome Shang. After your post on ‘EVER HAD ONE OF THESE?’, I am not sure of your comment ‘Do we need a nice work?’. You are new here and we all are all willing to help with your projects. Looking forward to see your projects. We like photo’s. Have fun and work safe in the shop.

The biggest compliment I ever received was from a man of few words I very much respected. He said,” Pretty work.”

Yes.

Every child need encouragement to grow and improve and what are we all but big children playing with expensive toys?

Also why else would anybody show up their work here if it ain’t for seeking some form of approval from the fellows that take the time from their busy lives to come and look at it?

I have yet to meet anybody that doesn’t like a pat on the back, I think it is embedded in the human nature.
