I have a question. I make bunk beds, and loft beds. So far for the safety rails at top I use screws to hold them together. My questions is what way can I put them together to were I don’t use screws at all or where I can hide them. I use 1×4’s for my rails and rail supports so I don’t want to use to small of a screw to were if I sink them to put a plug it won’t come out the other side.

I like using decorative buttons. You can use as large a screw as you want, and you don’t have to countersink it very far. They come in a lot of different sizes.
