Has anyone heard of or used router bits by a company called Columbian. I have an opportunity to buy a Dewalt DW618PK router and the guy is also selling a set of Columbian Router Bits. They are Carbide tips. Any thoughts??

Thanks – Harold

There’s no shortage of great choices regardless of budget, so you need to ask what advantages the Columbian bits have over others at the same price. Unless the price on the Columbian bits is very low, the odds are good that they have no advantages over other well proven choices.

MLCS, Woodline, and Grizzly are all very good low cost imports. Katana and Price Cutter are excellent mid range bits. Whiteside, Eagle America, Infinity, Freud, CMT, and Amana are all top of the line premium cutters.

Thanks guys for the input. When I did my internet searches I only found outlets that sold them, but no info on the bits or the company that makes them. Thanks for your help.

Since Columbian router bits were sold by a big box store and at a low price, I must assume they are not the same quality as MLCS, Whiteside, Amana, etc.

Have your say...
