Well this weekend I finally started building the new kitchen cabinet doors and I’ve got a few quick questions about installing glass into the frame.
For a little background the doors are shaker style cut with rail and stile bits. The top cabinet doors are going to have frosted glass instead of a panel in the center. On those I’ve glued them up minus the center panel and then I used a rabbiting bit to remove the section of wood that’s usuall the back side of the dado for the center panel. This leaves me with a ~0.45” rabbit on the back side of the panel.
Now, my intetion is to use staple style plastic retainters to hold the glass in place.
Do I need to place a section of retainer on all four sides of the panel or just the top and bottom?
I know they are “staple style” but will small brad nails work as well?
Any advice or tips on installing glass this way?
Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!
