I have said it before. These people are fairly resourceful and are trolling all over the internet. Now that they have found us they will keep trying. It seems ludicrous that anyone would fall for these schemes but apparently there are enough people doing it that they are able to stay in operation.

I also thought there was no way that people would ever, EVER fall for one of these emails. However… :-)

My pastor was called one day by a member of our church, she could barely contain herself with excitement of her ‘blessing’ of $10MM. The lady was in her 40’s, very nice, somewhat naive, and not very tech savvy. She was actually offended when the pastor told her it was a hoax, she didn’t believe him – especially since he hadn’t even seen the message.

These folks throw out 100,000 darts a day, knowing at least one will hit the target!

I have read a news report that there is a town in Romania whose major industry is running these scams. Many of them have become very rich. Apparently the law enforcement there is corrupt, incompetent, or just looks the other way.

They’re scammers and they take people for all they can get, and sadly, some people really fall for this crap, including recently a government figure who spent tax money trying to make it rich! There’s a British website that really gets into messing with these scammers called 419eater.com. I, too just received the email, and sent it to the FBI, and to the local sheriff. I keep getting these in my box, and constantly dumping it. Today, I had enough of it.
