Looking at the Makita 2012NB 12” planer. Sells for $499 at Amazon w/free shipping. Being in WA, I’d also have to pay sales tax (~$45). Searching around, I see Toolbarn has it for $400.01, including shipping & no tax to WA. Best price I’ve found by far, but I’m wondering if anyone here has used them?

If anyone has this particular planer & would like to share there impressions, that would also be helpful! Was also looking at the Dewalt 735, like its 3 blades (the Makita has 2) & see some good reviews here. Have seen some negative comments elsewhere, though.

I new here (this is my 1st post), looks like a great group, hope this isn’t an inappropriate question to start off with ;-)

TIA

Dan

Hi Dan,

You posted your question in the right forum. This is the way to try and get an answer to your question. I have never used Tool Barn. In fact I haven’t heard of them but I will look into their web site. We all want to save money on our tool purchases.

Good luck.

I have used Tool Barn with excellent results – meaning no issues with the orders and ontime shipping. Merchandise was unused and original factory sealed.

I also use tylertool.com, very similar but seem to have a little bit sharper price and you cannot beat the shipping costs – I think they are 7.95 for most items.

Another good source is CPO Delta – very similar results to the above vendors.

GOOD Luck!

I seem to remember buying from them once or twice. No problems.

Thanks for the replies. I was just concerned that being new here someone might think I was “shilling” for the dealer.

Checked out Tyler, their price is about $50 more than Toolbarn. Does seem like a great price.
