I need to acquire two legs for a piece of contemporary furniture.

They will essentially consist of two pieces of flat steel with four bends, forming u-shapes. The attached pictures and diagram give more specifics. I might contact the local metal fab shop to see how much they would charge to put these together. I contacted a furniture manufacturer that uses these legs to ask if they would sell me a set, but I’m not holding my breath.

Piece o’ cake for a fab shop. How will you finish them?

Other good sources for more leggy legs are Hafele and Doug Mockett Co. The latter has periodic contests and the winner’s project ends up in the catalog. Swoopy and innovative stuff.

Thanks. Ferrous Metal (online) said they would make them out of stainless for $195 each. Kinda pricey, so I’m going to wait to hear back from the local shop.

You’re going to pay for stainless, local or online. Have you considered other metals? Does the project demand stainless?

Got the legs at a local shop for half the price of FerrousHardware.

Have your say...
