Topic tags/keywords: question tablesaw milling

I am trying to build the shop notes router lift and I for the life of me can’t get the v notch cut into the post guides. The sheet says to cut the v at 3/8 deep and to be 5/8 from the edge of the fence to the edge of the blade portion that pops through the table. I have cut several “X” patterns but these are not going to do me any good.

I appreciate anyones help as I can’t get my head around what I am doing wrong.

Maybe watching Steve Ramsey build a similar one will help.
