Yesterday I picked up a Unisaw it was in a commercial setting and came with a 72” Biesemeyer fence. Thats really way too much fence system for my needs and space consuming.

My thoughts are:

#1. Cut it down to 36”. That would leave another 36” section that I could sell or use for a router table fence.

#2 Cut it down to allow for ripping ply wood in half (24”) not worried about the 48” cut. Typically I make use of the panel saw where I purchase ply.

#3. Sell it and buy the 36” rails.

I’m sure a few of you will be reaching for your chest as you read that I’m considering cutting the rails…lol

I wouldnt mind just selling them. Just the thought of having to find a container to ship them is not appealing. I know I’m near DC and I could sell on craigslist.

If I were to sell what is a fair asking price?

That is a long fence but if you wanna get rid of it I think I have a 36” one we can trade straight out it’s up to you.

I would try to sell or trade it locally before thinking of cutting it.
