I made my first router table. I bought a piece of lexan for the router plate made the top from plywood. It worked very well. I made my kitchen cabinets using it. They had raised panel doors made from red oak. I have since stepped up to a purchased router top from rockler and a better homemade top with a Kreg plate and cabinets .
Rockler sells a router plate for that router. Get the plate and build a router table. Can be as easy or complicated as you wish, there are a bajillion router table plans out there.
If you're planning on using it often I'd suggest buying a lift like Jessem, Woodpecker, Rockler etc. and making the table. There are actually a bajillion and one plans out there.
I have a Bechdog table saw wing router table for a number of years and it has served me very well, not only a's a router table but also as an extension wing and it does not take up any more floor space.
I can also use jigs for the table saw on the router table.
Cast iron, extremely strydy, very heavy, not cheap, and available from Amazon, Rockler and others!
I stand corrected, oldnovice. They are indeed different extensions and the descriptions were a bit confusing to me. What really caught my eye were the vastly divergent user reviews for the two. The 40-102 had 123 reviews and a 4.4 star rating while the 40-100 had 10 reviews and a 3.2 star rating.
Ripper70 no apologies required as the two different version are confusing and I don't understand the review ratings either!
