Hello,

I am picking up a used Masterforce 10” bandsaw tomorrow. The seller doesn’t know how to tension the blade and it will be my first bandsaw. No manual, and doing a thorough search online I haven’t found anything. Does anyone know how to tension the blade, or can provide me with some pics of the manual? Would really appreciate it, thanks!

@MoshupTrail ?

Most of those style 10” bandsaws are very similar. Here is the manual for the Rikon version. I would say that you should be able to get a very good idea on how to tension the blade on your saw from it. Just click on manual then click on the download prompt.

Makes sense, that Rikon manual is very thorough. May come in handy! I called Masterforce and some lady is trying to dig up the manual. Her initial search revealed nothing, but I told her that it is a real product that existed at one point. :) I’ll post how it goes with the bandsaw, might be a week or so.

I’m pretty sure that Masterforce is one of Menards house brands. Some years ago I had an issue with one of the Menards house brand tools and needed an answer that only the factory could provide. When I asked the store manager if he would contact the factory and get an answer for me he looked at me with one of those are you nuts expressions. He called corporate and even they didn’t know where to call for the answer. I hope you have better luck than I did.

E-mailed Menards, got the PDF. All set :) The upper tire retaining ring is missing, looks to be a c-clip. Will take off the bottom tire’s clip and get a duplicate. I think that’s all that is wrong.

Got the bandsaw running. The original 3/8” 6tpi blade has been though the ringer and doesn’t like cutting very much. Some teeth are pretty much gone. It was inside out somehow, was burning the wood so I reversed it and now it at least cuts. The main problem was the lower piece that the tension rod threads into fell out. If you loosen the tension too much, the lower piece falls out and the tension rod is free spinning. The original owner apparently couldn’t figure this out?? A set screw for a lower guide was missing. Got everything adjusted and now will get a new blade. Going to get a 1/2” 3tpi blade and see if this guy can go through 4” logs (max height).

Have your say...
