Woodworking author Nick Engler shows how to use featherboards when resawing with the Kreg fence.

Great idea! I’ve been using the Kreg resaw guides for some time and use my right hand to try to keep the board straight (plumb?) while steering and pushing with the left hand. When resawing 6 to 8 inch wide red oak, I’ve occasionally had problems keeping the board plumb and although it appeared I was keeping on the line on the top edge of the board, the blade was wandering on the bottom part of the board. The feather board would provide consistent pressure on the bottom of the board and free up the right hand to assist in steering and/or pushing.

This was a nice video on using a fence during resawing operations.

Thanks for the post.

Nick does it again, he is always spot on with the jigs that he creates. (don’t forget to check the Blackboard to the right of the video for schematics of jigs)
When viewing his Sawdust sessions watch his hands. At times they are moving very smothly from operation to operation.
I guarantee that I would have dropped those clamps a couple of times. LOL
