Gary – have you checked E-Bay ?
there are some nice Almond Burl pieces for sale there but the Avocado is pretty limited.
you need to express what size of wood you actually need for your projects.

search words would be:
Avocado Wood Knife Scales Pistol Grips Wood Turning
Avocado Wood Knife Scales Pistol Grips Wood Turning

.

.

John I have done a quick search and most are stupid prices for thin pieces. That’s why I am reaching out here.

I know someone who might have almond wood at least. Has a sawmill near Modesto.

Here’s a link to his webpage. Really great guy and he’s helped me a lot with getting my operation going.

maybe you would generate more interest if you worded your post topic as:
“Looking for dried Avocado or Almond wood”.
the “Special order on the rush!” is not a real attention getter.
(Admin can change it for you if you ask them).

John took the time to try to help you out. Getting snarky with people who are trying to help you is likely to be a great way to make sure nobody else bothers. Just something to think about.

RobbieB you should follow your own advice. I was teasing the gentleman, you know “har har” but thank you for pointing out the error in my response. I am truly appreciative of your taking the time to teach me a lesson in, well I don’t know what. But thanks!

Oh I see now, the smiley faces I put in there didn’t come out, so I can see you confusion….
