Topic tags/keywords: walnut persimmon oaks dogwood magnolia box elder cedar poplar

i have some very nice woods, indigenous to Tennessee, that i would love to see used in different ways. I guess, tomorrow, i will try to be organized and diligent and post some pictures of what i have already hoarded in my scrap pile. I have some pieces that just beg to be used on a lathe -especially the dogwood.

If you want something specific, let me know, and i can post pics of what i have. I guess if you want to pay postage, if it is something big, or trade something, that would be nice!
Unfortunately, a lot of it is still in treemen dropped it off in the front yard instead of going to the dump-form. Half the time i just have to start ripping stuff with my saw & guess what it is.

okay, it is hard… i am not very organized….

This is most of the big stuff…not organized…
a sassafras root in the background there,
some unidentified root sections atop a large oak trunk section on the right,
walnut trunk sections and box elder? pieces on the left, behind the chair i am going to figure out what i want to do with sometime.

the rest of the dogwood the bench slab came from

dogwood detail

box elder? -ash? detail

cool, big ? root detail

tons of small walnut and unidentified scraps

box elder/ & knotty pieces cluttering the front porch, that i refused to put in the fireplace

locust

persimmon

oak

lots of cherry pieces, firewood length

What you have there looks real good.I’m in NC so I may be close enough to make a roadtrip. Would love to get some Black Walnut ,Box Elder ,and anything else figured that would be used for turning platters or bowls. How far into TN are you ,east or west end of TN? Talk to you soon, Woodman2k

woodsman…uh, yeah…nc?! – don’t you think delivery would be better?! – i’m pretty fond of the outer banks! i know that trip – i’m all the way west, in memphis though. if i could afford a vacation, i’d strap some on top & drop it off on the way! – pretty state you’re in!
