Try Google…..I found lots of sites with various plans for "pedestal tables". The claw foot shape is an option and you can actually buy them pre-carved at various places like Rockler.
If you are gonna carve it your self you will need a compass and a carvers rotissery(sp) You can make one or use your lathe if you have a lathe.
Go to you tube and search for carving clawfoot table legs. Lots of videos on them.
Gotta have some wicked sharp gouges as well.
There are more then sixty ideas on pinterest.
You can also choose and buy claw furniture legs on Etsy, they have a lot of them.
Personally for me the best choice is to buy old and ugly wooden table and refinish it.
