Hey guys (and gals), i’m back with another question! :D

Does anyone know a site showing off different styles of furniture making,
maybe even sorted in categories after periods and styles?
Maybe showcasing different builders.

Story is: My Girlfriend is from Romania, they got something called “Martisor” there.
Those are little pieces of jewelery about the size of big coins, you can read about it on Wiki .
Well, she got many of them and once had to throw some out, so i want to make a chest,
or cabinet for them.
Thing is: I don’t know what style of furniture she likes, or finds visually attractive.
While we know each other for quite a while now,
we never had the chance to discuss such things, as styles of furniture.

She knows i’m into woodworking so i doubt it would be a issue if i would show her a site,
and discuss some pieces of furniture, but i don’t really know one,
that would cover any meaningful amount of styles from historic to modern.

Best regards.
Tobias. :)

I ran the Martisor through Google and only got some generic pictures of what you are talking about. They look as if a display case would be more appropriate. Do you have apicture of what her’s looks like? Maybe if you went with say display case hung on the wall, you might not need to be so concerned with a “style”.

Let me know what you think.

Greetings Bryan.
First: Thanks for the reply.
Form and shape of Martisors can vary immensely, some are made from straw, others beautifully bound from string,
some are even actual coins, some are made of wood, the one she send me this year was my sign in gold on pearl.
Seen some flowers in clear plastic. Just for the fun of it i putt a picture of mine on the end of the post.
Back to business:
We aren’t really talking about a view, but in her case of 2 or 3 bags.
While a wall hanging display case would be a beautiful idea, it probably isn’t very practical.
Or is there maybe a good book on furniture design? I mean it’s a great topic,
it’s always worth reading into it.

Here the Martisor, it’s just a little smaller than a silver dollar.
