I need some advice on finishing coats for three 3’x 3’x 18” cedar planter boxes. I was thinking of first putting a coat of natural clear stain on to bring-out the grain and then 4 to 5 coats of Old Masters Marine Spar Satin Varnish. Would there be any problems that I might have by doing it this way? I have never worked with cedar before and I am wondering about the weathering durability of doing it this way.
Thanks!!!
