I recently bought a new router – a Milwaukee 5615 – and I’m looking for a decent edge guide. Pat Warner’s edge guides and sub-bases look very solid and precise. Any experience with or thoughts on Warner’s router accessories? Thanks!

Here’s the link to the edge guides – http://patwarner.com/router_edge_guide.html

I’m assuming, therefore, that no one has any experience with Warner’s Edge Guides… Anyway, I found an alternative that I’m leaning toward, the RouterBuddy – http://practical-technologies.com/. It looks like it’ll do more than Warner’s guide, is more stable in design and less expensive. Any thoughts on this edge guide?

I didn’t see your question earlier, but I have used a number of Pat Warner’s ideas and jigs for the router, he makes things simple and easy to follow – his video on router secrets and jigs is excellent, although it has been around for quite awhile (mine is on VHS).

Looks like it would work well!

The other link is interesting too, but sounds gimmicky to me…

I’ve never looked at Warner’s edge guides… and having looked
now and had plenty of experience routing with factory edge
guides I can saw that he’s on the right track putting a fence
on each side.

If you want to make precise grooves for inlays or whatever, I’d
go with the Warner.
