So I am needing to find some maple veneer for a friend that is building some new cabinets for his kitchen. He bought single sided pre finished UV pine to use as the cabinet sides and shelves, and since the good quality UV birch is seemingly gone from our area, he needs to find several pieces of maple veneer to go on the exposed cabinet sides. The face frames and doors are stained maple. Our local lumber supplier is also out of 1/16” veneer, which is what we would normally use. The face frames for these cabinets are a 1/4” wider on each side than the cabinet carcasses. We could use 1/4” ply but my friend doesn’t want the cabinet side to be all the way flush with the face frame. So with that being said, I need some suggestions on places to order some maple veneer that is less than 1/4” thick and is at least 24” wide x 96” tall and something that will glue down and take stain nicely. Never ordered veneer before so I don’t know what the best source would be. Any suggestions?

Woodcraft.com sells 4’x8’rolls of 10mil maple veneer for $89.50.
Though you might be able to find it cheaper elsewhere…

I’ve always had good results with GLVeneer out of CA

https://glveneer.com/ecommerce/category/veneer-gallery

Lots of varieties and different cuts and decent prices.
(I sound like an advert, but really, I’m just a satisfied customer.)

If you want 1/16” Maple veneer, Certainly Wood is your best bet.
https://www.certainlywood.com/results-woodmenu.php?name=MAPLE&menu=1/16%20in.
Just below this one they have some nice 1/16” curly maple. I use tem a lot. Great people and great veneer.
Edit:
The link doesn’t seem to work. Just go to their “special thickness veneers” page and look for 1/16” maple.
