I got some big Pecan tree rounds from a couple in Chico, Ca who are having a big tree removed in sections because of its location next to their house. They still have 12-15’ of the main trunk to come down. they want to recover a little of the cost of removal and not see the wood just burned. They don’t know anything about turning or preparing the wood. I told them to at least put old latex paint on the saw cuts. I got 6 rounds that are around 16-18” in diameter and 16” long. I told them I would ask around a few sites to see if anyone in the Chico area might want some. I paid them $20.00 per round. I figure that’s $10.00 for a large bowl blank. Offer what you want. Pm me if you want to contact them and I will give you their number. It looks like it will make some nice bowls but I don’t have any pictures. I haven’t had time to rough any blanks out.

-- Robert, so much inspiration here, and now time to work!!!

I’ve never turned any pecan before, but I’ll bet it take some sharp chisels. That stuff is hard.
