Below is a quote from a poster over on Sawmill Creek forum. I know nothing more that this.

“Looks like photo bucket has come under new management and from the email I had gotten they are releasing from hostage all photos. Not sure what programs they are setting up for other money grabbing schemes but for now looks like our photos can be once again seen if you used them. Mine have.”

Went there…..it said:

As of today, your hosted images are live.

Photobucket has a new management team that wants to do the right thing. We are committed to earning back your trust and offering comprehensive and flexible image storage and hosting options for our customers. We’ve taken your feedback and made some changes to our pricing model that allows us to offer competitively priced plans that fit the needs of all of our customers.

Today, our current customers’ hosted images have been restored and Photobucket is introducing a new pricing plan that is built around everyone’s needs.

For a limited time, we are offering a new, competitive subscription package that includes ad-free storage and 3rd party image hosting for just $1.99 per month, or $19.99 per year – which is 95 percent less than the previous pricing model. A free subscription option will still be available to customers who do not require 3rd party image hosting.

In an effort to improve our customers’ experience, we’ve also moved away from an advertising-based model and have eliminated a portion of ads from the site.

Photobucket pioneered the image sharing and hosting market 15 years ago, and our new management team is committed to returning Photobucket to the premier imaging service people had come to know and trust.

There are more positive changes on the way, but for now we are excited to share this new compelling subscription option, as a testament to our dedication to you, our valued customers.

2 Buck a month if you want 3rd party hosting. I say that’s quite fair.

- Desert_Woodworker

Since I don’t know what it is, there is no fair price. If it turns out to be Muktuk there is no fair price.

- Desert_Woodworker

Empty the Muktuk out, then a fair price would be .63 cents per jar.

Photosuckit has improved, but I’m not paying. I will never trust them with my photos again.

You don’t have to pay anything unless you want 3rd party hosting if I understand it correctly. All my photos are still there.

Mine are there, but I’ve copied down all of them as well. You’re right, I don’t have to pay. And I won’t. I have a few dozen blogs here on LJs with hundreds of blocked pics. They can do the corporate circle jerk all they want, but they still suck and will forever suck.

Okay! You got me! I just had to find out what MUKTUK is.

“Muktuk1 is the traditional Inuit/Eskimo and Chukchi meal of frozen whale skin and blubber.
A Bowhead Whale is most often used in muktuk.”

Muktuk is most often made from the skin and blubber of the bowhead whale, although the beluga and the narwhal are also used. Usually eaten raw.

Sounds absolutely uuhhhmmmm …... Let’s just say a couple of Hot Dogs and a few Beers would do Me just fine!

Before AG makes a remark … Yes! I’m Canadian which has nothing to do with it. Does it?
