I’ve looked around and it seems the suppliers I’ve looked into are only
selling a VFD that will convert for up to 3HP motors.

I’m looking at a industrial beast of a saw and I’m wondering if the VFD
technology could do it.

I’m only here because I don’t understand a single word you just said. Just here to be learned. Sorry of no help ;)

I’ve bought a couple of VFD’s from factorymation before but for smaller motors. I just looked at their website again but could not see a VFD that has single phase input with 3 phase output for a 5hp motor. They have lots of VFD’s that will do the job with 3 phase input and 3 phase output. I could be wrong but I have always been told that VFD’s that convert from single to 3 phase top out at 3 hp and you have to switch to a Rotary Phase Converter after that.

Have your say...
