Hey Swede,

Yes, it would be great to see some of the very talented woodworkers from LJ’s get involved. It really is a chance to showcase one’s skills, get critical feedback on your work and to mingle with other gifted woodworkers. Heck, last year there were several pieces sold off the show floor and lots of other contacts made for future business. I’m sure the WoodExpo2012 will be even better!

Question: What are you entering?

They need to have a turning challenge category also. So to answer your question I don’t have any thing to enter. Hey Scott how have you been? We need to meet up this summer, maybe a woodworkers meeting in Evergreen this time?

Roper you said…..”They need to have a turning challenge category also.”

Sounds like the Open Category to me. We had one turning entry last year that was sent in from Ohio. I believe we metnon in the video that “We’ll make room for those who “MAKE” there own opportunity.

If you are in a guild or turning club, why not put something together as a group. The options are OPEN in the Open category. Turning falls under furniture assessories.

We’ll have unbelieveable prizes from WoodCraft like we had last year and we’ll make sure to award something to those guys who show some agressiveness and create an opportunity.

Heck, it’s possible to turn a step stool too. I, personally, couldn’t do it, but you could turn all of the individual pieces to a step stool, then assemble it. We don’t have to relegate all turned pieces to the category of ‘furniture accessories’.

I say, take the chance and turn something for the Wood Expo 2012
