Hi Guys, I need some advice on what clear finish to use on some outdoor furniture I have. The wood is Cypress, and in the past I have sprayed a tounge oil on it. Recently I pressure washed it and sanded it down to bare. It is my Patio furniture and will remain out in the elements here in Southern Alabama. What do you think would be the best finish to spray on?

Thanks JTMEK

I use Cabots Australian Timber Oil. It is formulated for the Australian outback so it should. I use it on custom cedar signs I make. It can be sprayed, brushed or rolled. Can be found at Lowes.

Another option is Min-Wax Helsman or something like that. It’s made for outdoor furniture and I’ve had good luck with it… but I always give it 3 coats.

Forget the Minwax helsman, use real marine varnishes.
Basically its polyurethane with UV inhibitor.
