Yep – still need to get rid of some tools that I know I won’t be able to use due to my health issues.

Most of my Lie-Nielson’s have not been used much (a few not at all). They were all bought back in 2008 when I was at Kelly Mehler’s school (a school which I highly recommend!).

I have five planes I would like to sell. I’ve taken the original price and taken off 25% to come up with a price. I’ll have to get shipping costs if anyone wants these shipped.

#7 jointer plane—- $320
No. 62 low angle jack plane – $183
No. 40-1/2 scrub plane – #123
No. 5 1/2 – $281

UPDATE:

My No. 4 is NOT a Lie-Neilsen – it’s a Veritas. I made a mistake when I was listing them – not sure how I could do that – but nevertheless I did. I have someone who may be interested but will let everyone know if it falls through. I getting ready to try to put pictures on the post so you can see what I have and know it’s not a bait and switch trick. I made an honest mistake and I apologize.

To get more of the low down on these planes go to lie-neilsen.com. I can send you pictures I have – but they are not nearly as good as on the website.

Thanks for considering this. If I can’t sell them to my LJ buddies – I’ll be putting on Craig’s list.

Sad to hear this Betsy. Looks like a good offer on the planes. I’m sure they will find a loving home.

5 1/2 and the 40 1/2 are especially appealing.

Thanks

Ah, I sent you a PM about the 5 1/2 before I saw your reply. Oh well, I hope it works out for both parties.

Hoping I get this right – but here are pictures of the planes.

First the Lie-Nielsen 5-1/2

Next the Lie-Nielsen 40-1/2

Next the Lie-Nielsen No. 7

Next the Lie-Nielsen 62

And finally the VERITAS No. 4

All of the planes show a little dust from being on the shelf in my room. They have all been kept inside the house and all have only really been used to “test drive” as after my accident, I really never developed my arm strength back to use them properly.

Again I apologize for the mix up on the No. 4

I’m sorry you got injured… it’s a shame you can’t use those beautiful planes…

Your arm strength cannot come back by using them (one) just a little bit (no straining) every other day?
Give you something to do with your scraps too! :)

Wish I could afford stuff like that!

Take care…

Thanks Joe. Nope – no getting back my strength, have tried just about everything. It’s a long story but long and short that car accident really messed up my neck, which messed up the nerves, and to add insult to injury the accident “triggered” another issue which makes getting my strength back next to impossible. So I’m cutting my losses and going to concentrate on what I can do which does not involve a lot of hand tools unfortunately.

thanks for your thoughts though Joe.

Update:

The 62 is spoken for. (Anjil2305)
The 5-12 and 40-1/2 are spoken for. Elksniffer)
the 7 is spoken for. (lumber2sawdust)
and the No. 4 Veritas is spoken for. (bigkev).

I’ll let everyone know if any of these deals falls through, but it looks like I’ve sold all of these planes! I have a few more that I need to dig out but will post those later (not Lie-Nielsen’s).

thanks everyone

OK, Betsy…

Sorry to hear that it’s that bad… but, you can enjoy power tools too…

Just be careful…

... and there are some hand tools that can still use… to a point…

Just do the best you can with what you have… Sounds like you’ve your head on straight… That is good!

It was nice to see that you sold all of those fine planes!!

Take care…
