Topic tags/keywords: question blocked

Okay! Someone blocked me, and I have absolutely no idea why. It may be a mistake I don’t know !
I have never had this happen before.
If there is some kind of conflict here, I would like to resolve it, but I am blocked, so I cannot comment on any of the persons posts, I cannot PM them, so what do I do ??

No idea. Guessing this is probably your best approach. I cannot imagine anyone blocking you…..

I’ve been through this same thing before. All you can do is move on and not worry about it. It’s not just youu either. Some members here have 99% of all the other members blocked for no reason. A while back I posted a similar post to the one you have here because I couldn’t figure out why hobomonk had me blocked when I’d never even repsonded to any of his posts before or conversed with him postively or negatively. It turned out that he had almost everyone blocks.
Who knows? I learned from that experience to just enjoy Lumberjocks and not worry about what some of the other people here do.

I don’t think there is a list or anything like it where you can check who blocked you.
The only way is when you try to participate in a post but can’t.

few months ago I found out that I have been blocked by someone I have never had an interaction with.
I was like “what???” but I laugh hard at the stupidity out there.

There are people who feel targeted by suggestions comments, no matter how civil, even if you are not dealing with them.

I say you should be proud. Someone out there could not ignore you.

At the bottom of the person’s post you will see
Have Your Say
You cannot participate in this discussion because you are on the (person’s name) blocklist.

It ain’t no big deal, and nothing to worry about…...I’ve been blocked by NBeener and hobomonk for a long time…...I guess some people just have to feel the power…..I don’t even give it a second thought, cause I’m a good guy, and I know it…..lol. Noone ever knows why…..it just happens…..

When Hobomonk blocked me, I thought it was my personal hygiene. I doubled up on my showers and changed my 5 day deodorant pad. After all that feeling bad, all I accomplished was doubling my water bill. I’m still blocked but my water bill is back to normal and every one at home stays away from me. Life is good. lol

PS…If it will make you feel better I will block you. You can email me and ask why. My email is posted on my home page. lol

Hahahaha!!!!
I normally get aggrevated when people put that haha stuff on here to simulate laughing on the internet. I made an exception here.
August McCormick Lehman III. Ah, yes. I haven’t checked, but I may be blocked by him as well, and no, I didn’t do anything to him either. I read the post though. If he found out I read it, he may have blocked me. When it was done, I think most of us read the post.
He used to put up some pretty good stuff. Then all of a sudden one day, I think he didn’t take his meds or something. It all started with a post he made. Then someone commented. It wasn’t an attack comment. It wasn’t even argumentive. August blew a gasket though. It wound up in the end with him doing the attacking. The hilarious part though is the way he was doing the attacking. He made multiple comments back to people about how much more worthy and experiences he was than everyone else, because according to him, the size of his house, bank account, etc.
Now all this was towards the beginning of the post in question. It went down hill from there. I can’t even remember what the argument started over. It was some trivial thing. The point being though that sometimes here on Lumberjocks you get certain people that act a little weird to some of our standards. I think there’s a reason for that, but more on that subject in a moment.
I once worried myself about being blocked. It bothered me to no end that someone had blocked me without even having the decency to tell me I’d offended them so I’d at least have the chance to apologize and make things right. I do go out of my way to try and get along with everyone. I feel everyone has a right to their opinion and the right to express that opinion. Even if I disagree with them, I don’t wish to offend them because just because I disagree with them does not mean that they don’t have something to contribute on another topic. Also there’s the little fact in my opinion that I could be wrong as well.
That’s why it bothered me so much when I found out I was blocked by hobomonk and britboxmaker. I have no idea why to this day. I haven’t done anything to either of them. As for both members though I went to comment on one of their posts and could not. I went down this same road as you pleqading for answers, and got nowhere. Actaully, I got less than nowhere. I got nowhere and plus had a post on my hands that I had to ask management to delete because it turns out that these sort of topics get arguments started whether you intend on it or not.
Just to prove how things can be here, I later got blocked by crushgroovin as well. I do know why he blocked me. I couldn’t help it though. He was daring anyone to disagree with him just so he could block them. It was another one of those duuuhhh moments.
Now to the more later part I mentions earlier. I have adopted a whole new attitude on the matter because of the interenet and it’s major flaw. The flaw I speak of is the ability to be invisible. What I mean is the fact that on the internet people act differently than they would face to face simply because they can. They are invisible after all. What’s anyone going to do about it if they’re @$$es? Take that fact into account, and the fact of the thousands of members we have here at Lumberjock. Get that into a pot and stir in a dose of humor, sarcasm, pride, and egotism, and we’re bound to create a few monsters here. As a matter of fact, when I stop and think about it, it is really amazing that we don’t have more arguments here at Lumberjocks than what we do.

William, I really enjoyed this post. “humor, sarcasm, pride, and egotism,..” Man, you’re right on the money:) I’m that guy with a really bad temper. I’m not proud of it, but I’m not apologetic for it either. I’ve got ego to spare and I’ve got to check myself frequently before hitting the “post” button. There’s nothing worse than an e-toughguy. It just goes against everything I believe about being a man. The fights I’ve been in here (one resulting in me quitting; and unquitting) have been over perceived insult. I’m just hypersensitive to the guy behind his keyboard, wielding “E-POWER” as a website manager, etc. It reminds me of: I went to a local Lexus dealer a couple of weeks ago looking for a new car. The attitude coming off the salesman…you’d think he was selling Bentleys..or had designed them. I couldn’t take it any more and told him, “dude, you do realize that you’re a car salesman, don’t you?” My fiance’ was horrified and I’m still in the doghouse for it. The stars of this site do it with humility. You have great humility, Bubinga, so I wouldn’t sweat it. You’re already winning.

Bertha, I’ve forced myself to stop and actually read what I type before hitting the “post this reply” button. I do a lot of backspacing to delete stuff that I deem, “no, I should not say that”.
The funny things is though that I have taken a different approach to the internet. I realize that some people say things on the net that they would never say in the real world. Because of that I have taken stuff on the internet that I would never take in the real world. I have had people say things to me on the net that if they had said to my face, well, let’s just say that there are laws that govern tha kind of reactions I’m capable of. I’ve had to learn to control my temper on the internet though. No need to get myself ticked off online when there’ not much I can do about it anyway.

HMMmm… I’m such a nice, meek, and mild mannered guy that August McCormick Lehman III does NOT block me. Hmm… Oh, and he has even thanked me for my input/comments!

Hey Al, does that make me a star? ;-)
