Just for fun.. Anyone willing to share embarrassing projects? Not embarrassing in that something didn’t turn out, but more of a “I can’t believe I’m really making this” kind of project..

I work in an office setting. Our men’s bathroom has accumulated a bunch of magazines. Sporting News, mostly, but someone decided to start bringing in “The New Yorker”. Trying to class up the joint, I guess…

So the magazines always get wedged into the “assist” bar on the side, & end up falling on the floor. Once that happens, I won’t touch them, so I’m thinking about making a hanging magazine rack for the stall. I was thinking I could even make a double-sided one so each stall has a rack.. ;)

It didn’t seem like a bad idea until I started thinking about carrying this thing into work & explaining what it is to my female coworkers..

I once made a paper towel holder, mounted it by the microwave at work , it listed 3 months and was stolen
It was simple, and made of pine, but never again
I’m sure, at some work places this would not happen

I built a small table to hold magazines in our bathroom at work. I wasn’t sure if it was a good idea at first but our bathroom stays much neater because they are no longer on the floor. jerkylips don’t worry about explaining to the women, they read in the bathroom also. They might even want one of their own.

garyp – at first I wouldn’t touch the magazines that were on the floor, but then I realized people were probably dropping them & putting them back – not to mention what ELSE they may be touching in that “reading session”. I don’t go near the things now..

Pdub – we got into a discussion about women reading in there a while ago. At our old office, the women’s bathroom was out of order so they had to use ours. We got a lot of grief for the “library” and heard, “no wonder you spend so much time in there…..”

Made these little stools for a women’s health clinic they had 6” holes drilled in the top (didn’t want a picture of my hand made stools with a hole in top). They put a pot of steaming water underneath and the women sit on the stool you get the idea.
