My neighbor is cutting down some 30 foot palm trees. Is there any useful wood in a palm tree?

Palm is a relative of the grass family. Its wood is stringy and difficult to machine. Black and Red Palm are the two most often imported exotic types of palm in lumber form. Difficult to turn, machine, etc. Not my favorite wood.
