I get my Western Red Cedar for my Adirondack furniture and signs from a saw mill in Oregon. The wood and shipping is about a 1800 bucks. The last load I mixed in 50BF of Big leaf Maple and 50BF of Alder. He had about 35BF of old Walnut so I got that too. However, he is limited to just these spices. His Walnut is gone. I would like to get some more Walnut, Hard Maple and maybe some Cherry. I was looking on line for this but being in Vegas the shipping would be way up there. Any good hardwood dealers in my neck of the woods? The prices I’ve seen online surprised me. I got my WRC for $1.30 a BF, the Maple and Adler for $1.60. The Walnut as well was $1.60.
Thanks,

If you can share, where in Oregon is this saw mill? And what’s it called?
Thanks,

Holmgren.
I deal with Silvercrest. Jim is great to work with. He knows his stuff and bends over backwards to please his customers. He cuts my lumber to order. I get all my wood rough cut.
I haven’t bought any in a while so I don’t know his current prices.

Thanks a lot Don. I’ve never bought rough lumber before because I didn’t have a planer or jointer. But now I do and can’t wait to start saving all that money! But maybe I can find a lumber dealer/mill closer than 400 miles.

Have your say...
