Topic tags/keywords: zebrawood walnut

This morning, I thought I would show everyone the zebrawood board Mike gave m. I had my son take a picture and just found out he tool it side ways instead of length ways. I thought the zebrawood was an 8 footer. Turns out it is over 10 feet long and there was an 8 foot 3/4 by 6 1/2” wide walnut board.

I feel some boxes and cutting boards in the near future.

Jim, see what happens when you send all that cold wind down here? It has blown in a lotta good here, maybe you will keep the rest of it up there so we can finally have our Spring. lol

All
Actually it hasn’t been that warm here, but the last two days, and today, look good. Washington was having some of the coldest spring weather on record, at least in April, and May isn’t looking great either. It is 46 deg F, 7.8 deg C here at about 0700hrs. It should get over 60 today. Where’s global warming when you need it?

Can’t say the wind has blown in any good, but then nothing bad has happened either. Well, maybe I’ll be more optomistic when I get my first cup of coffee down….............(-:

Hi Wayne, yes, it has been a little strange everywhere. Usually when you are cold and rainy down in the lower 48, we are warm and dry up here, and vice versa, just because of how the jet stream affects the weather. Maybe that slight jog in the earth’s axis from the Japanese quake is reversing global warming…......(-:

Hey Rand;

Looks like that shinny new saw will start off being fed some fine lumber.

Be careful you don’t spoil it.

Lee

Great wood there Rand. We will look forward to a nice project from that. As for the weather, it looks more like global wetting than warming to me!

OK, I reset the blade alignment, now .000 front and rear. I ripped some 3/16” stickers and restacked my wood. Now if resetting my skill level were as easy….....lol
Lee, here my ego was in the stratosphere and you give me this reality check….Thanks I think? lol
Mike, usually our Spring starts the last week of February. Last year we only had a couple of weeks of 100 + days. Maybe we have a new ice age starting at the equator. lol

What are you using for a blade?

Ice Age Groupies
But Mike, doesn’t it go like:.........a lot of moisture…....lot of snow pack…....doesn’t melt completely in winter…glaciers start to form…....elephants mutate into…....wooly mammoths…....humans mutate into neanderthals…......kitties mutate into saber tooth tigers…..........and world evolution goes backward?.........(-:

Jim,
At at the moment a Freud Diablo 60 tooth plywood blade. If you need the number I can go get it.

Ice Age Groupies….Is this de-evolution or degeneration? lol

Got called away for a honey-do, Sherie is having me install some store bought trellis’s.

I am running an 80 tooth Diablo crosscut on my RAS. My TS runs a WWII. I replaced another Freud wiith the WWII, but I am not sure there is a heck of a lot of difference. The Freud blades are generally dynamite in my experience. I use thin kerf because on both the RAS and TS.

Jim, I was talking to patron about thin kerf and full kerf. He prefers the full kerf and has me very interested, but I’ll be dipped if I can find any. lol

When David talks about woodworking I listen. lol On his visit last fall, I was amazed at what he accomplished with my junk. Made me decide to get some good equipment.

I would like to get a WWII for this saw, but that won’t happen for about a year. I gotta pay this puppy off and then pay off a new three door fridge for Momma. lol
