I just ordered a set of these Marples chisels from this ebay seller. Good
quality chisels at a very nice price. Not the newer Irwin/Marples Chinese
chisels.

If you need a set, these are pretty good chisels and really good for the
price.

Here’s the listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130521191099&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Thanks for the lead.
I’ve been hacking away with a 3pc set of economy Great Neck chisels for the past couple years.
I’ve been mulling a new chisel purchase for a few months now, but haven’t pulled the trigger. Mostly out of laziness.
As much as I’d like to have a set of Lie Neilsen chisels or some other premium brand, its not even remotely in my budget. I’m typically a bang4buck consumer (in the G-rated sort of way). I was dead-set on a set of Narex chisels since they seemed to be “good-cheap” chisels. I was going to get a 4 pc set for ~$35 shipped, and slowly build up from there.
Once you pointed out this nice looking 8 pc set for ~$50, my search was over. I don’t think I’ll find better chisels for $6 each, no matter how many flea markets and yard sales I hit. And the fact that the set includes a 1/8 is a real bonus.

Cool.

Marples will replace the chisel for nothing if you break the handle
too. Not that I’d expect that to be a problem. I have some sash
mortise chisels (no longer made) with these handles and they
are very tough.

Thanks for the heads up.
I think I got the last set.
