Is anyone here familiar with this saw? http://jackson.craigslist.org/tls/2380717365.html

I found one local for sale used and it appears to be in good shape. I am going to go look at it, but when I did a search on it I wasn’t able to find much information…except it was a craftsman line product at one time.

I’d say the price is a bit high for a saw of that type. It may be
a good deal for your part of the country though.

That kind of saw has the motor hanging out the back like a
contractor’s saw. The motor hanging out the back is an
inconvenience in a couple of ways, but really a minor
gripe if the saw cuts would well.

That saw has an older style of fence you may not be crazy about.

The brand is a Pacific rim import company. The older ones
may be made in Taiwan, not China. It seems a bit like splitting
hairs to me, but some people think the Taiwan made machines
are better than the Chinese ones at the same price points. The
China machines used to be really crude but they have, in general,
got a lot better.

What issues are there with the motor mount and fence? Is the machine reliable? I can get it for 320.

Sorry for the double post above. I was on my cell phone.

Well…I picked up the Rexon table saw, a Bosch 2 hp plunge router, a small router table, and a few C-clamps for $350. I hope I didn’t pay too much.

The router seems to be like new and the table saw ran great (very quiet in comparison to my current saw), the blade had good speed and it cut really well too. The fence moved easily…and I don’t think the motor mounted on the back will bother me.

As long as the motor lasts a while I will be ok with it even if it isn’t the best buy…as it seems well put together and easier to use than my current saw. Were the motors on these table saw units reliable? Just out of curiosity…do you know what this unit typically costs (if in good shape)?

Have your say...
