I’m looking at buying a table saw and came across a Shop Fox W1851, but not finding alot of reviews. What is the general opinon on this table saw? I also been looking at the Grizzly saws g1023 and g690.

All three of those saws are built to basically the same quality level. One might have a different feature or two than another one but none will really shine over the others. In case you were not aware, Griz and Shop Fox are owned by the same guy. Shop Fox is sold through dealers while Griz is sold over the Internet and a couple of showroom stores.

I’ve had one for about 12 years. I use it a few hours a week and have been very happy. I would buy it again. I bought it used as well.

I have had a 690 for 4 years now. I would buy it again if I need a new saw. I am hoping this one will last me for many years. I am in my shop 4-5 days a week and it gets used alot.
For the money it’s a good saw!
I guess if I had more money, I would consider a SawStop, but am not sure I would really buy even if I had the funds.
They are a really good saw and everyone that has one likes it. Kinda like Festool tools. Everyone that has them love them.

I have the Shop Fox Hybrid model. It’s very nice and has a couple small features the Grizzly G0833 doesn’t have. But I bought on price, the Shop Fox was in stock and a bit less expensive delivered to my home. Were I you, I’d buy whichever is the least expensive of those saws delivered to my home. They’re all pretty nice saws for the money.

As mentioned, the W1851 is a hybrid that’s similar to the G0833.

The G1023RL and G0690 are 3hp industrial style cabinet saws that require 220v operation. If you have 220v and the budget for the either of these two, they’re both a step up in class. More power, more mass, more robust underpinnings, heavier duty fences, larger handwheels, etc. All of these are viable saws, but if price is close, the G1023RL or G0690 are more saw and better values IMHO.

FWIW, I’ve been running a Shop Fox W1677 (Grizzly G1023SL equivalent) since 2008…it’s been an awesome saw.

The Grizzly g1023 is close in price, but not in stock and will not be in till June. The g690 is $500 more and a great saw by the reviews I have read. Looks like it will be the Shop Fox. I can buy it for $1240 ( plus tax) from from a local dealer and get free delivery. Thanks for the input.

The Shopfox you are looking at is a 2 h.p. model. If that is enough power for you, looks like a good price.
Doesn’t Grizzly have a similar model available?

Ditto. I have the 690, and have had no regrets.

Yes about the same price looks identical except for the color.

When the price is close between similar Shop Fox and Grizzly saws, I’d go with SF….longer warranty, and dealer support if bought locally.

With that said, I’ll emphasize the significant step up that a true industrial cabinet saw like G1023RL or G0690 is from a hybrid. Both types will cut wood accurately though.
