looking to upgrade to a new drill press, saw some video/websites on Delta’s 20” Digital/Laser Drill Press, but cannot find it anywhere. I called CPO Delta, they said the model has been discontinued? Anyone know anything about this?

Also, any recommendations? My current drill press is a 1HP Craftsman. And I hate the thought of downsizing on the power (reminds me of Tim from the sitcom Tool Time). Any advice is welcome.

To me this seems like another questionable laser application. You need pin point accuracy on a drill press. An 1/16”x1/16” laser mark just won’t cut it. You’ll always have to look and see if the tip of the bit is in line with your marks.
Not as bad as the jigsaw I saw advertised with a laser the other day. I mean c’mon a jig saw??? it’s designed to cut curves for Pete’s sake!! what a perfect striaght laser line is doing on a tool like this is beyond me.

Are there any new updates on the Delta 20-959dl?
