USAcabinethardware DBA Everything Direct

I ordered hinges parts from this company almost 3 weeks ago. After I sent 2 emails requesting status I got one that stated the order would be shipped last week.
As of today (Monday 5/16) nothing nada. This was charged to my credit card the day after I placed the order(4/28). Their “customer service number” gets me “Julie(Peggie???)” that says she will return my call…
After listening to the UbangyStomper music I think “Julie” is probably in Bangladesh. So far nothing.

I can take care of the CC but I have a customer that wants their cabinet put back together. This is not a part that I can find locally obviously.

If they come thru I will state so on here but until then beware.

Thanks for letting us know.
This is exactly why I absolutely hate ordering anything from a source I’m not familiar with. It’s like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get (to use a much used over used joke).
Another problem I have found in the last year is outsourcing or unannounced sales of companies. One company I had ordered from for a long time without ever having a problem, all of a sudden, seemed to be sending me the wrong items. I called them. I had called them before with questions and always got friendly service from a knowledgeable staff. This time when I called I for “peggy”. I could barely understand her (him?) and they knew less than nothing about their products. The company has either outsourced their customer service or they’ve been sold.

I’m still waiting. Nice, they charged my CC a month ago.
Supposedly they will ship this week but I’m having doubts, they don’t seem to want to talk to me.

If I were you, after waiting this long, I would cancel it on my credit card and be done with this company.

If you need a new source you may want to try Hardware Source.. I would cancel my current order and move on.

sux… thats bad service. thanks for pointing that out for others to stay away from them

that said charging your card before shipping is far from being illegal – I have not heard of anyone that charged an account AFTER shipping merchandise.

No I didn’t say after shipping,I meant when it was shipped. MLCS,Rockler Incra grizzly and others never charged my card until they shipped. This only amounted to 16 bucks but it’s the principal that they have the use of my money and they haven’t provided the merchandise yet. Unfortunatley this is the only place online I’ve been able to locate these pieces.

Yeah, that’s kind of a mixed bag of legal issues. It is not illegal to charge your credit card prior to shipping—according to government regulations. However, the major credit card issuers (visa, master card) do not look kindly on vendors who charge and don’t ship and will pull their services from the merchant if enough complaints are filed.

A vendor can also get away with charging your card and shipping later IF you had previously agreed on the order or in a later correspondence with the vendor that you were O.K. with waiting for merchandise that needs to be back-ordered OR if the vendor stated in its advertisement (webpages) that the items will require a waiting period prior to shipping. Again, credit card issuers prefer that the vendor waits until the back ordered items are filled before charging, but if an agreement was made prior, they can’t do much about it.

If you did not agree to wait for back ordered items and since the company advertises that they ship in stock items in 1 to 2 days, you should have notified your credit card company after you suspected that they (the vendor) are delaying shipment. The credit card company wouldn’t reverse charges immediately, but they would get the process going, and more importantly, you would have filed a complaint against the vendor.

The only thing that is illegal in a transaction such as this is if the vendor has no intention of shipping the merchandise. And how would you prove that? I guess wait a couple months? It’s easier to file the complaint with the credit card issuer instead of pursuing legal action.

Have your say...
