Topic tags/keywords: box inlay rock chips

I would like to add some small chips of coral or malachite to some boxes I am making as an accent. I have never attempted this before and not sure how to proceed. One thought was to rout a groove in some fashion, put the chips in and fill with resin. When the resin is cured sand and finish the box in my normal fashion. Has anyone in the LJ world ever done this. I could sure use some help. Thanks Doug

I think epoxy would work better. Guys that work in mesquite use it to fill the voids in this manner.

Have your say...
