Hi, I managed to get 1/8’ and 3/16’ bandsaw blades!(Finally)
Please advise which one to use to make a bandsaw box like steve’s.Also advise what height the box should be.I tried 1/8 on 5’ height but it’s not cutting right.

I like to use 1/8” blades.
After I put a new blade on I use a diamond stone to round the back of the blade slightly.
Doing this, you will be able to turn corners a little tighter and it also smooths out the weld so you get a better cut.

Gul, I wouldn’t try a 1/8th in 5” of hardwood. A 1/8th is pretty much maxed out in a 2” thick piece. A 3/16th is about as small as I would go. But, all my 3/16th blades are 10 tpi rakers , so I usually opt for the 1/4 with 6 tpi.
Correct tension and slow and easy should produce a good cut.
For my larger (6”thick) boxes, I use a 3/8th 4 tpi, 6.5 hook angle with alternate set by Timber wolf from Suffolk Machinery.
Actually, almost all my blades are Timber wolf.
Here’s a chart for you. Blade Selection Chart

Hi Gul

Gene has provided great information and the blade selection chart is the best reference. Light blades bow and twist a lot when cutting thick stock. Looking forward to seeing your posts on bandsawn boxes! By the way, what kind of band saw do you have?

All the best
