Topic tags/keywords: question

I am looking for a hinge something like this but of good quality and in solid brass.

It is used for entertainment centers for full 270 degree opening 3/4”overlay and doors which are 3/4” thick and it wraps around the side panel of the face frameless case which is 3/4” thick.

Anyone have a source or an alternate suggestion?

I thought of using a non mortise hinge like this,

but I just think it is a cheat. Also, I do not want to use euro hinges.

Suggest another method?

-- Respectfully, Paul

Thanks for the link. I sent them an email to see if they might have something not listed in their online catalogue like the first hinge above. The only hinge I found in solid bass was one that looked like this at $16.00 per each ($32.00/pr + freight) and made in Japan. Who said woodworking was easy?

Rockford Process Control. there home is here. Commonly referred in the trade as “rpc hinges”.

I see Amazon sells some, but didn’t spend enough time to find brass ones.

Commendations to you for not opting for cheapies. On something like an Entertainment Center, the hardware ought to be right and nothing less.

Kindly,

Lee

Here a link to woodworkers hardware. I’ve used them in the past for hard to find items. http://wwhardware.com/index.cfm?pageid=2

I have contacted many suppliers via email and no one makes a 270 degree non euro type hinge in brass with decorative finials rather it be a mortise or non for full overlay applications to a frameless case.

That being said, I guess that the only way to do this is to modify the cabinet to one with a face frame and dump the idea of the 270 degree bit.

It is a shame that our hardware has gone to the junk choice.

Thanks to you all for the input.
