I am starting a home library project in my 20’ x 19’ family room. The library will have doors on the bottom and bookcases on the top wrapping all 4 walls. For those who have built libraries before what is a good height for the bottom drawer section.I have started with 32” but I think it may be a little tall. The ceilings are 8’ high.

Here is one of the libraries we built. I like this one the most. The lower shelf is 18 inches from the floor and has hidden drawers. We also installed a murphy bed on one wall. You can just make out a built in desk on the right of one of the photos. Hope this helps. A library in a home is a cool thing. Enjoy.
As I don’t know how to use any of the flicker style pages, just email me for the photos.

Will you be doing any kind of built-in desk in your library? If so, your desk would work at 30” and that could be a good reference height for the bottom drawer section. Good luck and look forward to seeing your project when completed.
