Not sure how you feel about bamboo, but in about 3 months i will be making some bamboo flutes and wasn’t sure if you’d like me to post my steps on here or not. I know its a grass and not a wood, but its your call those who run the site. Let me know? This is why i posted this before hand.

I have always recognized bamboo as a wood even though it is a grass.

Please post your work. Wooden/grass instruments are cool. Bamboo is being used here in the USA much more than years past.

I agree, though it grows like a grass, and biologists call it a grass, for all realistic purposes, it is a wood. In my view, if it grows and can make sawdust, it’s wood. Feel free to post, it should be interresting.

I think you should post it as well. Its one of those weird plants, while technically a grass it is used as a wood. Think about it who grows a bamboo lawn.

Aweomse, a lot of feedback. I’ll try and take through the whole process in a blog from cutting the bamboo to playing it.

They make hardwood flooring out of bamboo, don’t they? I say it totally counts.
