I am in South Central Tennessee and we escaped major damage, but have friends in Tuscalousa and Birmingham who barely survived. This was a major weather event.

The Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant had to go onto backup power in order to shut down. That’s about 40 miles from my house.

Please, everyone, lets keep the victims of this event in our prayers.

Good to hear you weren’t hit too bad. Charlotte’s family is in west Tennessee, and they all dodged the bullet, but the town we used to live in has been hit twice already this year. Sure am glad I’m in south Texas…pretty easy to dodge a hurricane.

I’m in North Mississippi, and we had lots of rain, and scary strong winds. I’m just grateful we didn’t get hit as hard as our Alabama neighbors. They are in our prayers.

I live up in North East Arkansas about 10 miles from the Missouri border.. We had tornados dancing all around us up here, but we also dodged the bullet….this time…. In 4 days, we had over 6 1/2” of rain, and some places close reported as much as 9-10”..... That’s a lot of water. I live on Bull Shoals Lake, and the lake has come up about 20’ and still rizing…. That’s 20’ above normal pool level. They had tornados touch down in lower Arkansas around Little Rock and back this way to me…..Everything’s good here.. I didn’t sustain any damage at all, but some of our other Arkansas LJs could have….don’t know for sure…..

I was going to post this on Beeners thread, but he has me blocked, so I put it here. Hope everyone is ok…

We had several funnel clouds, so I am told, maybe a tornado in the area. Nothing like Alabama. Either way – not a good thing. Hope everyone is safe.

Huntsville and Athens are without power. That’s North Alamama. Utility companies are saying several days to restore power. Now we are running out of gas in Southern Tennessee. What a mess.
